Trio of Big Races in Land of Lincoln Greet Dennis Erb, Jr. Following World 100

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The 53rd edition of the ‘World 100’ took center stage in Dirt Late Model racing from September 7-9 and Dennis Erb, Jr. was on hand at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio to take part in the three-day extravaganza. In Thursday’s $12,000 to win preliminary program, Dennis grabbed the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race prior to passing five cars during the 25-lap feature to land in the fifteenth finishing position.

A similar $12,000 to win show was then held on Friday evening and Dennis was leading his heat race late when a blown right front tire sent him into the concrete retaining wall and forced him to limp home with a fourth place finish. After switching to a back-up car for the 25-lapper, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace started shotgun on the field before blasting past twelve competitors to salvage a twelfth place showing.

At the “Big E” on Saturday night, a $56,000 payday awaited the victor of the ‘World 100.’ In front of a packed grandstand crowd, Dennis was in a coveted transfer spot in his stacked heat race until a blown right rear tire sent him to the attention of his crew. He returned to the track to finish seventh in his heat, but was forced to the consolation event where he could only muster a ninth place effort. Unfortunately, Dennis was not able to make the start in the 100-lap crown jewel headliner. Complete results from Eldora Speedway can be found online by clicking on www.eldoraspeedway.com.

A quick turnaround will greet the #28 team, as they will be in action later tonight, September 12 at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. A $23,023 first place prize will be up for grabs in a Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series showdown. Dennis currently sits seventh in the latest series point standings heading into #FALS later this evening.

Two MARS Championship Series events will then round out the busy week in the Land of Lincoln. On Friday night, September 15, a $10,000 winner’s check will be on the line at the Brownstown Bullring in Brownstown, Illinois. The dirt-slinging action on the MARS tour will then quickly shift back to Fairbury Speedway on Saturday evening, September 16 for a $5,000 to win battle.
