Why are we basically the only four wheeled professional motorsports circuit without double file restarts? as bad as racing at Eldora can be (btw this years World 100 racing was great in my opinion!) boy it sure peaks the fans interest every time there is a restart there because anything can happen, perfect example was Hudson and JD with 2 to go, Hudson would’ve been fairly comfortable with single file but he knew with one of the best restarters in the business that caution could’ve been his demise … is it because the leader is felt to have earned that spot which I totally get or possibly it is felt that they cannot fairly judge double file restarts … thoughts?

IMO Because DLM racing has long been run by the racers and their politics and voices. They always seem to have a way to get their way. Anything they can do to give the leader an advantage.

Just look at the bodies of today....

SAS has been doing double file restarts.

It could be worse. They could go back to single file restarts regardless of the lap. Now that was boring.

They ought to make any field over 21 start 3 wide on big wide 1/2 milers……single file is lame, Delaware double is better traditional double file should be the rule with the pros imo.

I'm not a fan of single file restarts unless there are only a few (whatever that number is) laps to go so there aren't a bunch of cautions. Other than that they should all be double file and I'm not a fan of lane choice either.
