Just because you have some of the best in your corner doesn't always mean that will translate into instant success. I will evaluate the teams success at the end of the year. It's only been a few months and they're leading WOO points for now. I believe they've won a race or two, they've probably passed more cars than anyone else. Until they get the short game (qualifying) figured out they will have to keep passing a lot of cars.

The greatest dlm crew chief is proven wayyyyyy underrated once again!

Shepp has won a few big races in the horn and will be good in anything he drives but you can’t convince me that he wouldn’t be better in a rocket. They fit his style way better.

2 wins in close to 30 races this year, that is not a small sample size, I told buddies last year already the way he was going in a Longhorn he has not driven his last Rocket

You guys forgot to sound cool and call it the... Factory Car.

Exactly what Pennsboro32 said, Sheppards driving style fits a Rocket better, same thing for Hudson O'Neal.

Personally if he would have picked rocket I think he would have had a car under him that he was comfortable in. I also think he could have picked up the phone and talked to his old crew for support. You guys are right for the time being, that horn does not suit his driving style.

on paper they should be as good as anybody, something is missing though. hes a cushion pounder and rockets are the best in the mud, theyll get it figured out

The only thing he isn't doing well is qualifying. There's zero reason to panic.

I doubt seeing Sheppy in a Rocket anytime soon. IMO the move to Longhorn was a calculated move and subtle statement to MR and the Rocket camp. I'm guessing BShepp didn't want to go to another Rocket based team and have to call Shinnston for purchases and setup advice, I got the feeling he was glad to be done with that bunch.

Once he gets his qualifying down pat in the Longhorn, winning will be frequent.

I'll make my assessment next weekend after FC.

Bet Bshepp wins that……I’ll go ahead and lock that in.

BBQ, that's a track that he can win at even if he qualifies poorly. It will more than likely be won on the cushion. If he or Pierce dominate on the top, I'll personally lay to rest that you need a Rocket to blast the cushion.

I don’t think either one of them will have a problem finding the cushion…..if they both don’t wreck each other going for the lead I think B5 gets it done.

Longhorns can't run the cushion?

BP32?

Davenport before he got gray hair and glasses?

The only thing he isn't doing well is qualifying. There's zero reason to panic. That may be true but that is like saying the only thing a golfer is doing wrong is he can’t putt. If you can’t qualify you are hosed.

He's been getting to the podium fairly often. Agree it's harder to pass than it should be, but it can be done still.

Chip ins are rare, I'm not sure I agree with the comparison.

Just what is Sheppard's driving style and why doesn't the longhorn fit his driving style?

I've been told that the drivers that get to wheel rocket 1 are well compensated beyond what many recieve. It's no I'll show up with my helmet bag ride. You must be willing to work on the car at HQ when not racing. It's also been related to me that merchandise sales is rockets money. The money being made today at that trailer is huge and some want all of it. That doesn't work when driving for team blue. Certain drivers see what is coming in and want a bigger chunk, well get your helmet bag and go find a better ride. It's been proven many times over, TEAM wise, they are the best out there. They brought Cody in to see why and where he was making so much speed. He was paid well and went on his way. B Shepp and Huddy both will never be in that situation again. You may hate a certain guy but nobody has done it on top more years than team blue. If you cannot recognize that fact then you trully aren't watching the right sport. Wrestling is probably better suited because we all know that is real.

I don’t understand why B Shepp isn’t qualifying good, according to 4M and dirt on dirt Kevin Rumley is leaps and bounds the smartest guy that’s ever been in the sport.

MasterSbilt_Racer

^^even if that were true, there are more chiefs involved, more hands-on than him.

Rumley has made the single biggest mechanical impact ever made on the sport. But, he might also be a 1 hit wonder

I heard that merchandise arrangement changed lately. First Ron Slavic passed who always had the Rocket deal. Profit then was split up amongst the team. When Huddy arrived and Tessa did the apparel the profit all went to the driver. Not sure if's that correct but it came from someone close to the team.

Some are saying the merchandise deal had to do with the split.
