Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Date at Natural Bridge Speedway on May 10 Canceled

(NATURAL BRIDGE, VIRGINIA) The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco was slated to make its inaugural appearance at Natural Bridge Speedway next Friday, May 10. However, new track promoter Amanda Bradley regrettably notified the series that the scheduled $10,053 to win event at the Natural Bridge, Virginia speedplant would need to be canceled due to a lack of race sponsorship.

The Spring Nationals and series promoter Ray Cook, while disappointed in the cancellation, looks forward to the possibility of working with the track in 2025 and beyond. “We always hate to lose an event, but Amanda (Bradley) was in a tough spot taking over the track early in the year like that,” commented Cook tonight. “I’ve been there as a track promoter and understand that side of things. While she ultimately couldn’t make it work for 2024, we are still open to making our first trip to Natural Bridge Speedway in the future.”

“When we first took over - we had every intention of following the current schedule in place at Natural Bridge Speedway,” said Bradley recently. “Unfortunately, we have not been able to secure sponsorship for the upcoming Super Late Model race and after talking with Ray (Cook), we have made the tough decision to cancel it at this time. This is not a decision we wanted to make nor one that we take lightly, but it is a decision that we feel is in the best interest not only for ourselves, but for our ability to support our local racers in their events.”

“We are just not in a place right now where we can be comfortable completely taking on the purse for a Super Late Model show and still being able to provide the things we want to for the drivers who are supporting us every single week,” Bradley went on to say. “We will continue to try and secure sponsorship to get all of you fans a Super show back at Natural Bridge as soon as possible!”

With the Natural Bridge cancellation, the lone event on the series schedule for next weekend will be the annual running of the ‘Beckley USA 100’ at Beckley Motor Speedway in Mount Hope, West Virginia on Saturday, May 11. Before the single-day extravaganza, which boasts a whopping $20,053 first place prize, an open practice session will be held at Beckley on Friday night, May 10. The ‘Beckley USA 100’ has a total purse of over $63,000 and each starter in the 100-lapper will receive at least $1,000.
