Replacing Windows for My Philly Rowhome - Any Good Local Vinyl Makers?

  1. Rappar
I'm finally getting around to replacing the old, drafty windows in my rowhome near Rittenhouse Square. The place is over 100 years old so the windows are original and letting in all kinds of outside air. A neighbor mentioned looking into vinyl replacement windows since they are affordable and low-maintenance. Does anyone have suggestions for good vinyl window manufacturers in the Philadelphia area? Looking for quality products but also trying to keep costs reasonable for doing the whole house. Any first-hand experiences or recommendations would be hugely appreciated!

Oh, the joys of historic homes and their charming, yet inefficient, original windows! I went through a similar situation with my place last year. Vinyl windows are indeed a solid choice—affordable, durable, and pretty decent in terms of insulation. I ended up going with a local manufacturer that I was really pleased with. You might want to check out Pasad Windows. They offer a wide range of styles which was perfect for me as I wanted to keep the historic vibe of my house intact.A little story from my experience – when the installation team from https://pasadwindows.com/ was working on the windows, they found a hidden layer of old newspapers in the wall from the 1920s! It was like a little time capsule. Not only did the new windows cut down on drafts, but we also got a glimpse into the past. It’s always neat when a home improvement project turns into a mini adventure!Hope this helps, and good luck with your project!
