I keep hearing conflicting things on the maximum compression ratio that e85 is good for. I have an iron headed 406 that's 14.5:1 that i was hoping to run it on.

I keep hearing conflicting things on the maximum compression ratio that e85 is good for. I have an iron headed 406 that's 14.5:1 that i was hoping to run it on.
My carb guy has engines on 16:1 with E85.
14.5 is okay, just test and make sure your getting at least E75 if buying it at the pump.

Considering the power they make with it on boosted applications. I see no reason why their would be any limit with it on a n/a combo
E85 and higher is a huge help to any engine. I know in a few LS applications with changes to the intake and exhaust side of the engine, you can get 160+ HP gains.
