Rod Conley Twelfth at Florence Speedway; Readies for Ira Bastin Memorial

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The #71R team and driver Rod Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, invaded Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday night, March 30. An unsanctioned Super Late Model special at the Cincinnati-area venue shelled out a $5,000 top prize.

Rod placed sixth in his loaded heat race and later started the 40-lap main event from the outside of the ninth row. "Hot Rod" then rallied past a total of six competitors during the feature to leave Florence Speedway with a twelfth place showing. Next up for Rod and the Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) team will be a trip to the Hoosier State on Saturday evening, April 6. The Northern Allstars Late Model Dirt Series will preside once again over the ‘Ira Bastin Memorial’ at Brownstown Speedway and a $5,000 paycheck awaits the winner. Each feature starter on Saturday at the Brownstown, Indiana fairgrounds oval is assured of receiving at least $1,000.
