When will they post the lucky 4 drivers?
Scrub, English, and the Carpenters. (not the singing group)
Anybody know if eckert is running his own stuff or Allen Murray's?
Eckert hasn't raced at Eldora for years, many more drivers out there who are more deserving. jmo
Whining about the results of a fan vote is ridiculous.
Rustys crying about it on Facebook lol
This race is being driven by pure PPV revenue. “Deserving“ a spot means jack squat.
Boxing is the gold standard for PPV event buyrates, and it does those buyrates by headlining the most popular (and usually world class) fighters people aren’t paying 80 bucks fight to see the guys in the prelim fights.
If we apply the same theory to this race, the average fan wants to see a long time heavyweight contender like Rick Eckert as opposed to a journeyman who is rarely competitive with the heavyweights like Rusty Schlenk. Now, I’m not knocking what Rusty does, going up 3 and 5k races where he’s got a better chance of actually taking the pot makes way more sense for his program, but it’s not at all flashy or popular amongst the wider DLM fanbase. The wider DLM fanbase is who this race is for.
Other than a couple ALMS races when did he support it. Seems like awhile back Oakshade ran a non points race for guys who weren't going to enter the Dream or World (can't remember which event it was) and he chose to run there instead. Didn't he also leave Eldora once to race somewhere else because he qualifed poorly.
Just because they live in Ohio they think they should automatically be invited? Smh
Still think Matt Miller should of been Locked in. I’d say that was my biggest disappointment.
Duane Chamberlain is the only guy I feel bad for.
Agreed, Pennsboro32. If there is one guy who truely is getting the shaft on this whole ordeal is "Insane" Duane Chamberlain. I don't believe, in the 11 years we've been attending The Dream, that he has not been there.
I feel bad for those that don't get to go. Per Eckert's schedule, he'll be in the Allen Murray car. He's been pretty quick in that ride, close to getting 6 top-10s in the 6 Lucas Oil races the last two weeks.
Matt Miller will be the only active Late Model driver who has won the Dream, that will not be able to race.
