motor shuts off
After a hard lift on the throttle say for a caution or something like that my motor will sputter and shut off. It then takes forever to refire like its flooded but it doesn't show any signs of excess fuel getting in. Fuel pressure is fine. Did it to me in hotlaps and again in the main after I was avoiding a wreck got to the other side of track and boom spit cough and nada.

Sounds like a needle and seat or float level needing attention.

Back your 4 corner idle screws out 1/2 turn each.

I would lean toward float as well. With a quick lift you might be getting fuel surge, no where to go. With a high float level I could image a flood situation. 2 barrel or 4?

Do you run a secondary metering plate? If the float was super high I could see where fuel could roll up the vent tube. But that would be a very high float and a very quick stop. Holley sells a square tube, I think they call it a whistler? It slides into the square vent, stops the slosh. Its mostly geared toward off road dudes that really rock their rides, but I could see a similar situation here, again, only if your secondary float was really high and your fuel pressure was 9 psi or up and no return line setup.
