What is the advantage to running bulb shocks with a base valve vs just a standard Bilstein shock or Afco? What actually makes them better?
Base valves allow less gas pressure to be run in the shock. Less pressure means less rod pressure. Rod pressure essentially is unwanted spring rate added to that corner of the car. Added rod pressure tends to take "feel" out of the car as well.
In your opinion are the base valve bulb shocks actually worth the extra $200-$250 dollars extra?
From about June on we run on slick tracks. I didn't know there would be that big of a difference performance wise
absolutely CHANGE the feel and are worth it...that said they get expensive fast
I actually found some and got a very good deal on some afco's and I plan on sending them to Bob Harris thanks for the help
