Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Week 21 Preview

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 21 will be a light schedule for the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division to make way for the 7th Annual Durrence Layne Chevrolet Southern Street Stock Nationals this week at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. While the $5,000-to-win main event will not be a Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series points-paying event, drivers can still earn them.

Tonight’s Qualifying Features for the Southern Street Stock Nationals will give each entrant a chance to earn Week 21 points. In addition to the Big Show at WMP, there are also four more Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division events on the Week 21 schedule for this Saturday night.

Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL and Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will be in action this Saturday night awarding Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 21 points. Going into Week 21 action, just seven points separate the Top 5 in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings.

Jason Baker of Addison, AL is the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division point leader with seven weeks left in the 2019 season. Baker has a 14-week total of 678 points, and he will be trying to net on a 40. Baker holds a two-point advantage over Mike Lane of Wing, AL, who has a best 14-week total of 676 points. Lane will be trying to net on a 42.

Dylan Hamilton of Cantonment, FL is third in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts National standings with a best 14-week total of 675 points. Hamilton will be trying to net on a 46. Hayden Moran of Covington, LA is fourth with a best 14-week total of 674 points, and he will be trying to net on a 44. Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS rounds out the Top 5 with a best 14-week total of 671 points, and he will be trying to net on a 42.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

The top eight drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings have reached the 14-week mark of their respective seasons and are netting points. Drivers ninth on back in the point standings are still earning full points, and looking to work their way up the rankings into a Top 10 points-fund paying position.
