1060 or 1061 with drysump and cooler ???
not sure what filter those are but anything along the line of a fram hp6 is going to work. you dont want a filter that doesnt flow at least as much as the line you are feeding the engine with. keep in mind you will loose some flow through the cooler so my opinion is larger openings is better.
Wix 51061R
JMO I wound not put a Fram on my lawn mower if you gave it to me. A lot of people might have good luck with them but Wix is the only choice IMO.

Wix racing filters have heavier steel cans and a much more open/larger micron rating, flows better/ filters less than most other filters. jmho

The 51061R is smaller than the 51222R. 51061R/51060R is made for a 350 stock block chevy mounted in stock location. Flows 28gpm and rated at 61 micron. The thread on this is 13/16-16. The 51222R is common for a remote mounted filter on a dry sump system. The thread on this is 1 1/2 - 12. This is a "large" filter. To go from a Wix part # to a Napa part # on just about any filter, drop the "5".
We've used the 51222R and had zero issues with them.

The non racing # 51061 flows much less and filters much more, I think the micron element was around 15 and it flows somewhere around 10 gpm. The 51061R is around a 60 micron filter and flows over 28 gpm as I remember. I was told, by a reputable engine builder, that you shouldn't run the heavier 50w oils and 50 multi viscosity oils in a standard filter under race/high volumn flows and pressures. PLEASE check this with WIX as it is just from an old bad memory!JMHO

Its always a compromise between engine life, flow, and filtering capability. Just depends on how you look at it and what you are trying to achieve. I imagine Bob Pierce is more concerned about clean oil than he is flow to the bearings which is why he recommends a more restrictive filter with greater pressure drop.
So what about the 52060R with anti siphone valve?
