I grind my tires with a 7" slow speed grinder/ sander, once I'm done I have been told to run a what I call a spike wheel over them, it mounts on a sander but has lot of spikes, is this the right thing to do it fluff's up the rubber. if so why

Nail head grinder destroys tires IMO, also destroyed a few pant legs also, lol. But ask 10 people about tires and youll get 10 different answers
Yeah run slow enough not to get them to smoke. I never use the nail head. After I grind my tires I take a little sprayer and spray them with a little water and clean all the grooves with a wire brush. What grit are you using to buff them?
The grit is 80
I use 36 grit
^ i use those but 80 grit
Yep that's what I use merc123
We use 60 grit multi layeror flap like grinder wheels and always steam clean the tires with a Hotsee steam power washer. Why do we use 60 grit? The guy who helps us "borrows" them from his employer, thats all they have.
