That article above explains everything. Wish Charlie Vest the best on the new role.
thanks
sounds like they might not run very many SLM shows .
hope I'm wrong.
Hate to see this, loved going to Atomic after Brad took over. Guess time will tell how the change works out.
Vest says he was interested in purchasing the track a couple of years ago. “I really love the track. The staff’s going to stay and we’re gonna lean on their experience to finish out the 2021 season. We hope to take the track to the next level.” That level Vest says is as a more diverse entertainment venue. “We hope to diversify the track with other events (such as concerts) like the bigger tracks do.”
Maybe im reading too much into this. Sounds like the whole staff is gone after this year. Also, Im trying to wrap my head around that last part. Eldora is arguably one of the top 2 or 3 known race tracks in the country. I do not see them having concerts.
I've been around a minute and followed what I think is closely to area racing and I can't think who this vest fella is. Don't ever recall seeing race or name in results. Anyone got a background on this one? See it's mentioned racing nascar and arca so I'm assuming his concert theme coming from that. Toledo speedway has had concerts over the years and don't some the other nascar tracks do that?
WVMS is having a country concert thing this fall, maybe that's his line of thinking. But WVMS offers a good venue for such a thing with their hillside seating, Atomic is pretty well confined with seating options.
I've been going to Atomic for several years now and last 6
have been going alone. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive each way and
have always enjoyed the trip.
I remember my first time there,we scraped ice off the windshield
when we left that night,it was the DTWC. and it was chilly.
I sure do hope they run lates but I think it looks unlikely, again
hope I'm wrong.
I've always said that if PRP had Atomic's track surface we'd
have one of the best tracks in the country.
There is no way late models are going to be done at Atomic, there are way to many solid cars and fans that travel there for late models. Only way they get rid of late models is if they pave the place and that isn't happening.
