Two More South Georgia Tracks To Sanction With NeSmith Street Stocks

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – NeSmith Racing officials announced today at the Performance Racing Industry Show that two more South Georgia dirt tracks have signed on with the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division for the 2016 season. Albany Motor Speedway in Albany, GA and Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA brings the 2016 track total up to 18 for the NeSmith Street Stocks.

Albany Motor Speedway and Needmore Speedway will join Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA in giving South Georgia Street Stock competitors an opportunity to compete under a common set of rules for both track championships and a National Championship, plus point funds for each.

The 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division season for National points will be for 27 weeks from March 21, 2016 through September 25, 2016. During the 27-week season, a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals will count towards their National total. The $5,000 NeSmith Performance Parts National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back ten spots in the final point standings.

The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division also gives competitors economical options with both engines and chassis. NeSmith Street Stock competitors have the option to compete with a replica frame that features the same dimensions and weight as a 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo metric frame.

NeSmith Street Stock competitors also have the option of using the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, which is quickly becoming the engine of choice due to its price, ease of accessibility and maintenance, and durability. Eight of the top ten drivers in the 2015 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings, including the top four drivers, were using the Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

South Georgia Street Stock competitors are encouraged to attend one of two meetings scheduled for Saturday, December 19. NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division officials along with Albany Motor Speedway, Golden Isles Speedway and Needmore Speedway officials will be on hand to answer any questions regarding rules and procedures.

The first NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Meeting will be held at Golden Isles Speedway on Saturday, December 19 at 10 a.m. The second meeting will be held at Needmore Speedway on Saturday, December 19 at 4 p.m.
