I've gotten to see this kid Drake Troutman run quite a bit this year on Flo and he really looks good. DoD did an article on him. He seems to be a real up and comer. Any of you guys have thoughts on him?

I think he is the real deal. And listen to his interviews, he sounds much older than he is. I just wish they would stop saying"17 year-old Drake Troutman" every single time they call his name. The first couple times, okay, but then, let it go.
He's really turned the corner in the last 12 months. He's good almost every time out in the mod and the late model. I'd say the lightbulb went off in his development.
Very Impressed with him after watching this past weekend.
I have been following him over the last five years (yes he started racing UMP Modifieds when he was 12). Several things happened over this past off season. He sold all his modified stuf and is running for another well funded owner. It seemed he and his team were spreading their resources too thin over the last year or two, and would have alot of mechanical issues, especially on the DLM side. The second was he switched to a Longhorn chassis after being an MB Customs loyalist his whole career. Add running Jay D*ckens engines, and he is now a contender in every race. His confidence is way up after getting his first career win at Port Royal eariler this season. I expect him to continue to have sucess in 2023. Oh and by the way, he and his mom are phenominal people.
He’s going to be one of the top dawgs. Got the potential to be as good as he wants to be. Eager to see how his career turns out.
Got to looooove The Drake.
I have seen him race a bunch around my Ohio Valley area. He won last years Topless 50 at Tyler County Speedway. Victory lane was very emotional that night! He for sure has the talent!
He has a bright future ahead of him.
Thanks for all the opinions, guys. I guess he hasn't won enough or raced enough to have haters yet. Nice to hear.
He does seem to handle himself well post-race. I would imagine losing his father so young has helped him grow up faster, but from the what the Kovac article said, he was really driven even before that. We're very fortunate to have so much young talent in the ranks.
It sure looks that way. Very impressed with him so, far. Wish he could run the Summer Nats tour and I wish Sam would get a good sponsor to pay 150,000 to for the championship and 10,000 to win shows and run Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for 4 weeks
you forgot wednesday lol ^
And I just heard on Flo that he's 17 years-old. Yeah, I know, I need to get over it.
Hauled to atomic tonight and his lift gate broke on his trailer
