R.J. Conley Runner-Up in Bob Crace, Sr. Memorial; Busy Weekend Ahead for CMI

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Three-quarters of Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) converged on Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday evening, July 16 for the unsanctioned 'Bob Crace, Sr. Memorial,' which boasted a $3,023 payday. R.J. Conley set Fast Time during the qualifying session, ran third in the fast dash, and later climbed up to second in the A-Main to finish behind only victor Jackie Boggs. His brother Rod Conley placed fourth in the dash prior to also running fourth in the Super Late Model headliner. J.T. Conley was also at the former K-C Raceway and finished fourth in his heat race before climbing six spots to bag an eighth place effort in the main event.

Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Delmas Conley took his famed #71 machine to the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday night for a weekly Super Late Model program. Delmas timed in fourth quickest during qualifying and won his heat race to earn the outside of the front row for the start of the $2,000 to win feature event. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace was then dominating the contest until his radiator cap came off, which forced him to pull pitside to settle for a disappointing nineteenth place performance. Action for the CMI teams will be hot and heavy over the upcoming July 21-24 extended weekend in the Buckeye State of Ohio. Rod Conley will enter four STARS Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week events, while Delmas, R.J., and J.T. Conley will also be in competition.
