After getting several requests and looking at our lineup and anticipated car count, we are going to add Hornets to our lineup for this Friday April 14th. We are also going to try something else a little different. Since we will be running Hornets last all night as the added class... The hornets don't even need to be here until 7:15. We will have a sign-in sheet and pill draw at the pit shack when you arrive. You can still get here early if you wish, but you don't have to. Last week we made you get here by 6 to draw a pill and then ran Hornets last all night. This week we are going to skip Hornet hot laps and let you not have to spend so much wasted time in the pits. The Hornet feature will run last. We've been thinking about working on a way to not force every class to be here by 6:00, and perhaps stagger hot laps in order to give guys who live a little farther away time to get here. This will give us a chance to test something like that with the Hornets this week. Down the road we are thinking of text or web based sign-in. BTW, We'll post full show info later tonight, but Admission is $12, Ages 11-18 $7, Kids 10 and under Free. We will open the pits around 4:15. Grandstands open at 5:00. Staff Meeting in Infield at 5:55, Pill draw closes at 6. Drivers Meeting 6:10, Hot laps 6:20, Racing at 7:00.
Attention Pro Late Models. In conjunction with Lincoln Speedway, we are raising our payout to $100 to start when we have 16 or more cars. You will see a similar announcement from Lincoln shortly. As you know, for the past few years we have been working with Lincoln to structure a schedule that allows area racers to race at both tracks. We want to keep the payout the same between the two tracks in this class as well. Thank You. See you Friday.

It's Race Day in Jacksonville with a full night of action on tap for our second event of the season. Pit gates open at 4:15, Grandstands open at 5:00. Racing at 7:00. Adult admission $12, Ages 11-18 $7, Kids 10 and under Free. There's a chance Mother Nature is going to save us a load with the water truck around 3:00, but nothing looks like it's going to be a show killer. We plan to race and we plan to live through a little 30 min late afternoon line of showers because behind it the weather is absolutely spectacular.. It's going to be a beautiful night and a fun night at Jacksonville Speedway. Please don't call asking "Is it going to rain?" Your radar is as good as mine. If there's a little green on your screen moving in our direction, that means it's probably going to rain a little. We don't need to be told "It's raining in Pittsfield or Litchfield or any other field. Any afternoon rain is going to be scattered, so it might be raining at Lenz field and not raining at the race track. Again, we plan to race and we plan to be playing the National Anthem at 7:00 in beautiful weather with the threat already behind us.
