Jameson and Miller Victorious in Butch Shay Memorial Events at Richmond Raceway

Richmond, KY – June 17, 2017 – Richmond Raceway would present the 3rd Annual Butch Shay Memorial on Saturday evening and Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY would take the checkered flag and $2,100 payday for the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series, while Jason Jameson of Lawrenceburg, IN would get to the checkered flag first in the Sonic Late Model feature event and also claim a $2,100 payday. Other feature event winners were Logan Preston of Berea, KY in the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks and Tyler Hayes of Pine Ridge, KY in the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders.

Blake Brown would lead the opening two circuits of the thirty lap, $2,100 to win Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series portion of the 3rd Annual Butch Shay Memorial before Clayton Miller would drive past him on the outside on lap three to take the lead and Miller would survive a fading right-rear tire and three late caution flags in the final ten laps of the contest to score the victory. Brown would settle for second, with Shon Flanary taking third. Jimmy Lennex, Jr. and tenth place starting Wade Rookard would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be John Jackson, David Adams, Zach Powers, Vernon Soeder, and Dennis DeBoard.

The Sonic Late Model portion of the 3rd Annual Butch Shay Memorial event would see Jason Jameson grab the early race lead on lap two of the event and drive away to score a convincing $2,100 payday, as he would lap up to the eighth-place finisher in the event. Tommy Bailey would take runner-up honors, while Derek Fisher would complete the podium finishers with a third-place effort. Justin Rattliff and Skylar Marlar would complete the top five finishers. The remainder of the top ten finishers at the drop of the checkered flag in the race would be Jason Barrett, Jeff Watson, Levi Ashby, Elliott Despain, and Jonathan Couch.

Logan Preston would survive a late race caution and a hard charging Eddie Stewart to pick up his first win of the season at Richmond Raceway as he would claim victory in the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stock main event. Stewart would settle for the second position, with Jeremy Howard finishing in the third position. Tyler Collis and John Cole would complete the top five finishers. Rounding out the top ten finishers in the contest would be Greg Hensley, John Cole, John Hall, Darrell Cain, and Michael McVey.

Tyler Hayes would see victory lane for the second time this season at Richmond Raceway as he would score the win in the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinder feature event. Brandon Creech would finish in second, while Greg Hensley would claim a third-place finish. Thomas Scenters and Jeremy Porter would round the top five in the final finish. Completing the top ten finishers would be Tyler Lawson, Clint Cox, Steve Perkins, Ashley Logan, and Stacey Harrison.
