There is still a tight battle underway for the National Championship with just 19 points separating the Top 5 drivers with six weeks to go in the 2019 season.

Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 24 races this Saturday night are scheduled for Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL, and Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

Mike Lane of Wing, AL is the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point leader with a best 14-week total of 695 points. Layne is five points away from posting a 700-point Perfect Season represented by 14 50-point wins. Layne will be trying to net on a 48 in Week 24 competition, which means he needs to finish first or second to gain any points on his season total.

Jason Baker of Addison, AL is second in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with a best 14-week total of 691 points. Baker will be looking to net on a 47 to stay in the National Championship hunt.

Hayden Moran of Covington, LA and Eddie Rhinehart of Lawrenceburg, TN are tied for the third spot in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 685 points. Moran will be trying to net on a 45, and Rhinehart will be trying to net on a 48 in Week 24 action.

Jeremy Eaton of Wiggins, MS rounds out the top five in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 681 points. Eaton will try to net on a 45 to stay within striking distance of the National title.

A driver to watch in Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 24 action is the defending Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock World Champion T.J. Herndon of Atwood, TN. Herndon is currently seventh in the National Standings with a best 14-week total of 677 points. Herndon will be trying to net on a 40, and a 50-point win could put him in contention for the National title.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
