Jensen Ford Races to First-Career ULTIMATE Late Model Win
Boyd’s Speedway and 411 Motor Speedway Holiday Action Awaits

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (05/23/22) – Jensen Ford finally shook the monkey off his back on Friday night by picking up his first win of the year in his Whitehead Construction Inc. No. 83 Stanco Equipment/ Estes Brothers Construction Inc. / TNT Race Cars / Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Ford’s maiden voyage to Victory Lane in 2022 came on Friday night at Virginia’s Natural Bridge Speedway and was worth $5,000.

“We’ve had so many doubters, we've had so (many) people hating on us," Ford said. "We haven’t had the finishes to show how good our car’s been. I’m glad we had the speed we showed tonight. It’s definitely been a challenging start to the year but there’s no quit in anybody on this team. We’ll take this momentum and look to build on it over the Memorial Day weekend.”

Friday night found Jensen Ford in action at Natural Bridge Speedway (Natural Bridge, Va.) for the Ultimate Southeast Series-sanctioned Road to Jamaica. Topping the 19-car field in time trials with a 16.016-second lap, Ford locked into the pole for the A-Main.

Keeping a charging Brandon Overton at bay as he maneuvered through lapped-traffic late in the race, Jensen raced to his first win of the season, which came ahead of Overton, Logan Roberson, Zack Mitchell, and Jason Covert. He earned $5,000 for his first-career ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series win.

For the King of the Commonwealth on Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Va.), Jensen edged his way into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With Mother Nature shortening the 60-lapper to 23 laps, Ford managed to gain three spots to finish 13th.

The team now has their sights set on a pair of Memorial Day weekend events. On Saturday night the team will compete at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) in the $5,053-to-win, Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals event before trekking to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) on Monday for the $10,052-to-win Scott Sexton Memorial, which will be sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series.
