What really happened with Hudson O neil, why did he leave the 1 car.
It could be a variety of things. Health, family, etc. Sometimes it's not about racing.

As we continue to go through this process, we would like to state that we have Officially lined up a very Temporarily Deal for Next Weekend for our 2 Lucas Oil races at Atomic and Brownstown. Without going into details, as we feel like this is the right thing to do as a family. We understand that our roll in the industry is fan base oriented, but we do like to keep some of our life private if we can. As far as my departure from Rocket1, there are no secrets! It was just a difference in where I thought my career and life needed to be! There was nothing that took place that caused mine and Rocket1’s split other than just a difference in vision! We hope that this is going to take all of the rumors to an ease! But just know deep down it was one of the hardest decisions to make for myself moving forward. As for myself, Tessa, our family, and sponsors we are very excited for the future. We hope to see all our fans at the track next weekend. 🏁
Looking for a list: who wouldn’t want that ride?
^
SHEPPY and Huddy. There's 2.
Literally thought Hudson would be there 10-20 years, he could have had re written the record books. Not to say he won’t still win a bunch of races but driving that car for a long period of time would have done wonders for his all time status.
McCreadie will do fine. But it does give me Eckert/Rocket1 vibes.
Love him….this will be a failed experiment if true.
Golden boy was there for 5 or 6 years.
Too bad Kyle Strickler did not get his foot in the door at Rocket 1. I would think Kyle Strickler would be the perfect fit for Rocket 1 .
Rumor i hear he was playing hide the weenie with someone wife or girlfriend !! LOL
I don’t think that’s unusual there at the shinneston space program……..I’m sure it’s just a rumor.🫣
T-Mac went back to Rocket 1 so it must not be too bad, and he left a really good team to do it.
I’m sure all the hate on 4M over the years has really hurt the business at Rocket.
I heard he wanted out last year and they talked him into staying
Seems like hate is what causes these guys to leave the best most well funded ride in the country…..I don’t think an insignificant message board has anything to do with anything there.
Again, very thematic……good luck to all involved but I think everyone knows how this will end.
And fwiw….longhorn success has hurt their business and will continue to do so.
When Tim Hitt left the program, before it was officially called the House Car, he got billed for bunch of stuff that he thought wasn't his responsibility to pay for. Don't know exactly how that got resolved? I had moved to NC. Wasn't on the inside circle anymore.
Divorce is rarely amicable. No matter what they say.
Since Hudson don't have anything lined up or left for different opportunities an Richard's didn't have driver lined up something had to happen. Esp doing it after season started.
When a guy walks in the room and thinks everyone in it is an ahole except for him……it’s normally not everyone else.
BBQ like when someone gets divorced 7 times. They are more than likely the problem.
Something like that….
Well said, I say nobody just walks away from a $400,000 a year job for no reason without something else lined up.
I'm going to guess that the same thing that drove Josh away also drove B-Shepp and Huddy away. I don't think either party lacks interest from other teams and drivers.
“ smile for the camera mark”……only thing missing here are pink handcuffs and bail money.
Ain’t karma a beach.
Neither side of Huddy leaving will ever talk about what actually happened. There’s that.
Nope, but the sport is still small enough and unprotected by everyones lawyers and PR people that word will get around.
So I’m confused, it was all over 4M, Dirt on Dirt and every other motorsports outlet that B-Shepp left Rocket 1 because he wanted more family time and to be closer to home….which one is it?
It must be a good story why Hudson left because if it was anyone else they’d already had at least 3 stories out on it.
Every DoD story that I ever had background knowledge on was cleaned up for the media. You think the BShep story was different?
The same story about being closer to home and time off was given about Steve Francis. DoD doesn't employ real journalists that ask hard questions and get the real answers, they're a bunch of bloggers that want to be buddies with everyone in the pits.
[QUOTE=kidrock;2481535]I don't know about yours but, didn't taste to good lol........
