Which drivers are expected?
#28 Dennis Erb Jr
#10 Joseph Joiner
Over under on the event finishing before 3 am?
Austin Horton
Randy Weaver
My favorite event of the year.
I won't be there, simply because I'm doing the wait and see how it turns out. But I can tell you that since Billy's oldest daughter has taken over and allowed Melvin Welch to come in and run the events. It has been smoother. They've also moved several of the lower divisions to Saturday night to help smooth out the Sunday portion. I also noticed that after the support division features, that they had a 45 min track resurfacing. Which is on par for what they used to do 4 or 5 years ago, when the race would end around 8 or 9. Last few years they have done 2 or 3 hr track work, which has caused me to just watch from home and still not make it through it.
2-3 hours track work? What would possibly take 3 hours? They spread new dirt? That's crazy.
Glad they adjusted schedule I probably will go now.
This is Sunday's rundown.
I only went to this race weekend once in 2014, when JD won, and I thought it was fine, I enjoyed myself. But it was a new track for me. New tracks are usually a little more fun. Saturday was a long day but yeah, on Sunday the Super Feature was over by 8-9.
The one time we raced there it was kinda awe-inspiring. So much going on, so much to see, and so many people to talk to. I need to go back!
I would imagine the car count will still be pretty low. At least for this race and maybe next year. But if they remain on this path my hopes are it will get better and even make me want to return. Lol
Looks like overton is at track
Have we missed anything today at EAMS?
It's 9:40 and the late models are about to start their heat races.
Correction, 602 "chargers" which are late models.
A car rolled and a whole bunch of hicks in the pits ran out on to the track and surrounded the car. Idiots. Let the emergency crew do their jobs unimpeded.
23 minutes later they finished one lap.
I viisted EAMS twice back in the late 70's when I owned a Jig-A-Low chassis that was built right there trackside at Jimmy's Speed Shop.
I got the VIP treatrment from the family because I owned that car... and I got to meet Jimmy before he passed. I fell in love with the red clay and the banking on that track.
It would be great to go visit it one more time before I assume room tempertaure.
There are about 24 supers tonight - maybe a few more Sun. Only 4 or 5 are not local people
Krooser,
That has to be one of the best lines of the year:
It would be great to go visit it one more time before I assume room tempertaure. 🤣🤣🤣
I think you need / deserve to go visit one more time. Congrats on your Hall of Fame induction. Always appreciate your insight to racing comments. 🏁
Well it's 11 eastern just pulled in see how long it takes
Web site says time limit for all classes. How is this Hobby Stock Feature not timing out?
2 hour time limit lol.
The Limited Late Model race may never get started, much less finished.
It just finished. They are going to take an hour break then run the supers.
Did they announce what time the Super late model feature will be run? Just tuned into Flo to watch, and there is nothing going on.......
It should be starting soon
It's typical back before they started racing til 1 in the morning a few years ago. They'd prep the track and wait for the sun to settle behind the hill. It stretches the evening a bit but does make a large difference in the racing.
Supers on the track
Hopefully the super drivers were able to go get 18 holes in while all the other stuff was going on.
Done at 8:30
Congratulations to Brandon Overton on another win
Should've just wrote him the check Friday.
