Yep, I was told they didn't really like how little time Hudson spent at the shop. Not sure how much time Thornton spends there now since he lives in Iowa, but he and TC have been friends for quite a while having raced together in the southwest.Quote:

He’s good enough to win ROY and the big title at the same time. Won’t even surprise me. When you watch him run, you can see he is good in any condition or groove and is very good about searching out the traction. On top of that, he’s aggressive but not to the point where he makes a ton of contact. Just flat out good.
2021 Lucas ROY will probably be the best class we have seen in a couple years.
Full time touring rides depend on how much money you can conceivably bring with you and how much you are likely to tear stuff up. Some drivers make more sense in those equations than others.

It's very conceivable that when they let Hudson go they had every intention of scaling back as was said. Then after the success they've had with Thornton got re motivated. Happens all the time especially with racing you think your done with it and hate it until you quit and it's still all you think about
