Car count is not overly important. But . . . . 30 laps on a 1/3 mile track is and it isn't much racing!
Last night, 24 started and 51 loaded up. Tonight, it will be the same but if 80 show up, 56 will load up. There was one driver last night with whom I was not familiar. It will be about the same tonight, tomorrow night, so on and so forth. The "little" guy has almost no chance of making the field so I'm miffed why most even make the haul. Their method of being a spectator is very expensive.
RTJ blew up in qualifying. Assume can use back-up car?
Looks like the Rockets are holding their own so far to all them longhorns.
Sheppard finally gets a decent qualifying lap starts up front in the heat and then unfortunately ends up in a racing deal and ends his night.
Looks like it's past Morans bedtime.
Tyler Erb must like those little third mile tracks.
i enjoyed the show...lots of action...odd seeing thornton and bshepp having problems...i know it happens but pretty rare for both
Finally speedweeks delivers.
It certainly did!!!!
I tell ya what it did do……brought back such great memories and the feeling of being at the track with you all I rolled down to the piggly wiggly for some strawberries (from plant city fla.),some premade pound cake and a can of extra creamy whipped cream with a cool whip back up.( not even close to the epic real thing but it will do for tonight)
Berries cut, sugared and waiting ,bourbon in the glass and flo on the flatscreen from the coastal Carolina’s ……living vicariously through the booth with y’all, Thanks for making it great ladies and gentlemen.
Rusty sings it with Soul.
Rusty is very good but, the best I've ever heard it sung was by Whitney Houston at the Super Bowl.
Rusty would roll over to the campsite for some soup du jour and crusty bread after his performance…..I got nothing for Whitney or her perogative in comparison.
Point is, it’s like we are there……if you ever were….and that’s special.
Yes Rusty is very good and at a song that isn't the easiest to sing.
Another good race tonight, it's what happens when the track has moisture.
It never fails, you can count on Boom Briggs to have at least one caution a night, sucks he waited with 2 laps left.
75-80 cars and no Lucas provisional must be why HTF is Hard To Find at an in-state race. Probably a good financial move.
Slick and smooth seems to be their bread and butter.
It has been good to see a bunch of different winners and top five many nights. Very good week so far.
Florida has almost never been a good indicator of how a season will go. The dirt is different, the tracks are different than most of the rest of the country and often times somebody gets hot during speed weeks. Shane Clanton owned Volusia one year. Moyer too. Bloomquist almost never ran consistently at Eastbay, but clean up during regular season. Rayburns dominated Eastbay for many years in early 00's. Rockets at Volusia. You just never know, buts its fun, albeit a money loser for 98% of teams.
It's cornfield racing at its best . . . . . across the rows! The only winners at that joint will be the parts manufacturers.
