Inclement Weather Postpones Modified Spring Shootout at Richmond Raceway

Richmond, KY (May 5, 2017)- Moderate to heavy rains that began on Thursday and persisted through the night on Thursday and into most of Friday as well, along with a forecast for possibly more rain and unseasonably cooler temperatures have forced Richmond Raceway officials to postpone the Modified Spring Shootout scheduled for Saturday May 6. The event will be rescheduled to a later date on the 2017 racing schedule at the 3/10 mile semi-banked clay oval better known as “The Beast of the East”.

The next event at Richmond Raceway will be on Saturday May 13 and will be the Richmond Raceway KDRA Spring Fling. On Saturday May 13, the KDRA Super Stock division will be highlighted in a $1,200 to win contest. Also in competition at the KDRA Spring Fling on Saturday May 13 will be the track’s Late Model division racing for $1,500 to win, Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win, and the Stock Four Cylinder division racing for $500 to win.
