Tyler Clem Scores a Podium with Southern All Stars at Southern

St. Petersburg, Florida (03/21/17) – 14-year-old, Tyler Clem competed in his home state over the weekend behind the wheel of his Hedman Hedders #14 Rent-N-Roll Rocket Chassis Super Late Model. Clem ended the two-day stand with the Southern All Star (SAS) Dirt Racing Series at Southern Raceway on a high note by finishing 3rd in Saturday night’s finale.

Tyler Clem returned to action on Friday night at Southern Raceway (Milton, Florida) in the opening round of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series weekend at the clay oval. With 26 cars signed in for the two-day Bash at the Beach, Clem came up short of a transfer spot in qualifying sending him into the B-Main. Wheeling his way to a consolation race victory, Tyler locked his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main. Coming from the back of the pack, Clem worked his way to a 16th-place finish.

On Saturday night, battling for a $5,000 top prize, Clem landed a podium finish in the feature after competing for the top spot throughout the duration of the finale. Battling for the lead in the closing laps of the 50-lapper, Tyler fell one position on a late-race restart, posting an impressive 3rd-place finish behind Casey Roberts and Tyler Millwood with Tyler Crowder and Bo Shirley completing the Top-5 finishers.

“The weekend started a little slow as we got the car dialed in, but on Saturday night we had a really good car,” said Clem. “I wanted that win really bad, but to come away with a podium finish against such a talented field of Super Late Model racers was really awesome.”
