Jimmy Mars Heads Back to Red Cedar and Cedar Lake on Heels of Podium Finishes

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Menomonie, Wisconsin standout Jimmy Mars piloted his father-in-law Paul Gilberts' #28 machine on April 22-23 in weekly Late Model shows at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie and Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond. On Friday night at his hometown venue, Jimmy ran third in heat race action and later lined up from the inside of the fourth row in the A-Main. During the course of the headliner, Jimmy picked off four competitors on his way to a solid third place effort behind only winner Jake Redetzke and runner-up Jess Glenz.

At Cedar Lake on Saturday evening, another weekly program was held and a $1,200 winner's check was on the line. Jimmy won his heat race in preliminary competition prior to rolling off from the outside of the third row in the feature. The popular driver known as the "Iceman" was then able to improve three positions during the 25-lapper en route to another third place podium performance behind only victor Darrell Nelson and runner-up Jake Redetzke. The same exact weekend is in store for Jimmy and Paul Gilberts’ race team this upcoming weekend (April 29-30), as the pair will head back to Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin and Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Another $1,000 payday will be up for grabs at Red Cedar, while Jimmy will race for a $1,200 top prize on Saturday evening at Cedar Lake.
