Practice Cancelled, McGowan Excavating will Face Lift Track, and Season Opener Goes April 15th
Burnside, KY (April 5th, 2017):
Lake Cumberland Speedway will sling the red clay and open up the 2017 race season on April 15, 2017 with the "Spring Shootout". Track promotor and owner Brandon Hardgrove, is pleased to announce that the 2017 season is planning to be a go on April 15th. "A complete new face lift on the track is being done and maintained weekly by the wonderful people at McGowan Excavating" stated track promotor and owner Brandon Hardgrove. Big changes have taken place at the track over the winter and now the stage is set for a huge grand opening of the facility. Now that the track and facilities have been renovated with so many new updates to the track and facilities, Mr. Hardgrove and the entire staff is looking forward to a tremendous 2017 season.
Also worth mentioning, the practice that was scheduled to take place this Saturday April 8th is now cancelled and will not be rescheduled due to the weather that moved in through the week creating such wet grounds. Now McGowan Excavating can concentrate on the face lift and maintaining the track for the season opener on April 15th.
On the racing card for the April 15th program will be Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $700 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for $500 to win, and the Stock Four Cylinders will race for $300 to win. The evenings events will consist of hot laps, time trials, heats, B-mains if necessary, and features. You can find all the rules for each division at www.lcspeedway.net.
The evening for the "Spring Shootout" will get underway with gates for the General Admission area and pit area opening at 3 pm. The drivers meeting will take place at 5:45 pm, while the first green flag of the 2017 season will fall on hot laps at 6:30 pm with racing to begin following hot laps and time trials. Ticket prices for the "Spring Shootout" will be $15 for adults, and children ages 12 and under free. Pit area Admission prices are $30 for Adults, with children 10 and under $15.
