It’s Throwback Saturday At Mountain View Raceway

SPRING CITY, TN – It will be Throwback Saturday at Mountain View Raceway this Saturday night when National Vintage Racing Association Late Models and Modifieds take to the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval. There will also be action for the Mountain View Raceway seven Weekly Racing Divisions with drivers from four different states competing for Double-Points.

The Mountain View Raceway Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder, and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will be in action this Saturday night along with the NVRA Vintage Late Models and Modifieds from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.

The defending Mountain View Raceway Late Model Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN remains the Late Model point leader with 292 points in the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Christopher Peak of Evensville, TN is second in the standings with 266 points driving the BS Welding Mastersbilt.

Josh Collins of Knoxville, TN is third in the Late Model standings with 224 points driving the Knoxville Diesel Rocket. Harley Maginness of Dayton, TN is fourth in the Maginness Racing Mastersbilt with 216 points and Sean Truelove of Cleveland, TN is fifth with 188 points driving the Levi Racing Rocket.

David Doss of Cleveland, TN is the Sportsman point leader with 384 points in the Levi Racing Rocket, followed by Bradley Goodman of Spring City, TN in the Goody’s Power Sweeping Rocket in second with 300 points and Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN is third with 288 points driving the Bray Roofing Rocket.

David Peak of Evensville, TN leads the Beginner Sportsman standings with 440 points driving the BS Welding Rayburn. Jeremy Thurman of Rockwood, TN in the Addison’s Complete Auto Repair GRT and Tyler Loden of Spring City, TN in the Lashes and Waxing by Paige GRT are tied for the second spot in the standings with 386 points apiece.

Travis Sietsema of Crossville, TN driving the Tee’s Home Improvement LG2 is the Open-Wheel Modified point leader with 368 points followed by Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN in the Palmer Racing Special in second with 330 points and third is David Lester of Rockwood, TN with 250 points driving the Cadillac Grill Loose Griff.

Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN in the Hughes Racing Monte Carlo leads the B-Hobby standings with 464 points. David Beeler of Sevierville, TN is second with 390 points driving the Kodak Tractor Camaro and Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA in the Rat Rod Chevelle is third with 366 points.

Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN leads the Thunder Division standings with 406 points in the Forsyth Motorsports Chevelle. Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN is second in the Ameka Wilkey Monte Carlo with 384 points and Bobby Davenport of Crossville, TN driving the Davenport Racing Monte Carlo is third with 378 points.

The Adams Brothers of Crossville, TN are still one-two in the Front-Wheel-Drive point standings, separated by just two points. Nick Adams is the point leader in the Grave Digger Chevrolet HHR with 436 points and Nathan Adams in the Adams Racing Special is second with 434 points. Billy Long of Niota, TN is third with 380 points driving the Long’s Painting and Recycling Chevrolet.

On Saturday at Mountain View Raceway, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m., and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates opens at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Technical Inspection and Registration will be from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Drivers Meeting is set for 5:45 p.m., with Racing scheduled for 6 p.m.

Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
