I think we will see races split between all tech and GIS, and a shorter Lucas speedweek. They won't be able to replace east bay.....ever.
I don't care. I'll be done with it.
For a lot of people, myself included, East Bay IS speedweeks. Things will look a lot different schedule-wise, but no track, or tracks, will ever replace East Bay.
I figure the GIS deal was made for the sole purpose of replacing EB but I could be wrong.
What GIS deal?
GIS has had its spot on the Speedweeks schedule for a long time now. I love the place. It’s one of our local tracks. But I don’t see GIS playing any part in replacing East Bay’s spot. Maybe Lucas adds a day or two to GIS, but no track is replacing East Bay. EB has a tradition, charm, etc, but the track itself is unlike anything else in the country. It can’t be replaced.
No race track can replace Pennsboro for the DTWC , yet it rolls merrily along. Something will replace Eastbay whether you like it or not.
2 years is a long way off. Will it be replaced, NO. I'm sure Volusia is going to try to add dates. East bay lost some of it's excitement when the woo sprint cars pulled out. The slm racing has been exciting there is no doubt, but seeing the guys that used to show up there for the sprint car races was dang impressive.
2nd the wvms comment. Never been and past videos especially this year say I won't be going unless shorten track or some kinda rework of track
To each their own, PRP is a dump
There was some talk a couple of weeks ago that East Bay may not be done after 2024. Anyone else hear that?
Its 50/50 that East Bay will be open for an extra year of Speedweeks.
Where could the Lucas Oil Series go if Easy Bay does close in a fee years?
Well here is a list of dirt tracks in the state of Florida no including East Bay.
Could they hold a big field of cars?
All-Tech Raceway - Lake City, FL
Bubba Raceway Park - Ocala, FL
Hendry County Motorsports Park - Clewiston, FL
North Florida Speedway - Lake City, FL
Northwest Florida Speedway - Baker, FL
Putnam County Speedway - Satsuma, FL
Southern Raceway - Milton, FL
Volusia Speedway Park - Barberville, FL
Well Lucas isn't going to Volusia.
New owner of N FL Speedway, knowing him it is going to be NICE and most likely will fill the gap
I predict there won't be a reduction in speed weeks. How it all plays out, I don't know but I do know that the two tracks drivers just came from produced some good racing, especially the last one.
