Date Set for UFo “Mega-Speed” at Hesston!
(MARS PA) – The 2011 UFo Race Championship tour finale has been set. The Hesston Speedway will present UFo “Mega-Speed” on Saturday, October 22.
UFo “Mega-Speed” will feature twin 28-lap UFo Super Late Model features paying $4,000 total to the winner. The track’s Limited Lates will also be competing in a 28 lap championship race, giving fans a triple thrill of 3-28 lap late model features. The UFo twin feature format always provides excellent racing and gives drivers two chances to win feature payoffs. With each feature awarding ˝ feature points, UFo “Mega-Speed” could tighten up the points race. Additional classes for UFo “Mega-Speed” will be announced. This initial version of UFo “Mega-Speed” will be the basis of a major fall event at Hesston.
Hesston Speedway will become a major force in Super Late Model racing in 2011 with 4 major Super Late Model events, including UFo “Triple TNT” on May 29 and UFo “Mega-Speed.” The 4/10 mile track is undergoing further improvements for 2011 including improved banking on the racing surface, expanded fan parking and seating and a relocated outer pit area.
The 2011 UFo Race Championship tour will open up on Saturday night March 26, 2011 at the Mercer Raceway Park at Mercer, PA for the “Chiller Thriller.” The UFo Super Late Models will compete for $3,000 to win and $300 to start in a 41-lap feature race. The E-mods, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks will also be on the program that night. The rain date for the “Chiller Thriller” will be Sunday, March 27.
The UFo Race Championship is an event marketing alliance among independent supertracks in the Pennova region (Western PA-Northern WV-Northeastern OH). Participating speedways presents their own championship Super Late Model events under the UFo banner throughout the season using common tech and procedure rules with a year-end, group funded, point bonus for the top finishing drivers on the tour. Eligible tracks are within the 3 hour travel distance of the central point of Washington, PA.
