When setting the air/fuel mixture using a air/fuel mixture gauge will I need to make allowances for tuning in the shop as opposed to tuning at the track (engine not being under a load vs being under a load)? If so, what kind of allowances.

When setting the air/fuel mixture using a air/fuel mixture gauge will I need to make allowances for tuning in the shop as opposed to tuning at the track (engine not being under a load vs being under a load)? If so, what kind of allowances.
What I've discovered is that it doesn't work at lower RPM's with open exhaust - the instructions even say so. But, if you get above 2000 RPM, it works well. I haven't taken it to the track. Still working with the carb issues I've found in the shop.
