Ponderosa Speedway Off April 21; Racing Action Returns on Friday April 28
Junction City, KY (April 16, 2017)- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs will have the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” closed on Friday April 21, but racing action is set to return on Friday April 28 with KDRA Super Stocks racing for $1,200 to win, along with a full racing program for Pro (Crate) Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
The Friday April 28 racing card at Ponderosa Speedway will highlight the KDRA Super Stock division, with their main event paying $1,200 to win. Also on the Friday April 28 racing schedule will be Pro (Crate) Late Models racing for $1,000 to win and Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $800 to win. Completing the racing program on Friday April 28 will be the Stock Four Cylinders racing for $400 to win and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win. All division in competition will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions. The track utilizes transponder timing/scoring and transponder rental will be $10 and RACEceivers are mandatory for use in all divisions each time a driver is on the track.
Activities for the Friday April 28 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice/time trial combo laps set to begin at 7:30 p.m., while the first race will take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times EDT. Ticket prices for the Friday April 28 event will be announced in an upcoming press release.
