Cumberland Plateau Modifieds To Race For $1,200-To-Win On Saturday

SPRING CITY, TN – The Cumberland Plateau Open-Wheel Modified Series will race for $1,200-to-win this Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway. There will also be Regular Point Races for the Late Model, Sportsman, B-Hobby, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive, and Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions.

The Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Division will compete for Double Points and Double TSCRA points. The Developmental Sportsman Division will also be in action this Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway.

Top entries for the Cumberland Plateau Open-Wheel Modified Series include Brandon Kinser of Allen, KY, and the defending Mountain View Raceway Open-Wheel Modified Champion Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN. Also entered are the current track point leader Jimmy Dalton of Powell, TN, Kyle Shadden of Dayton, TN, Scott Iles of Evensville, TN. and David Lester of Rookwood, TN.

Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN continues to lead the Late Model point standings and Brandon Stanfield of Soddy Daisy, TN is the Sportsman point leader. Brady Lee of Knoxville, TN leads the points chase in the B-Hobby Division and Casey Cash of Spring City, TN is on top of the Thunder point standings.

Josh Scealf of Decatur, TN is the Front-Wheel-Drive point leader, and nine-year-old Frankie Sharp of Crossville, TN leads the Junior Front-Wheel-Drive standings for kids 15 years of age and younger. With double points on the line for the Juniors, Josiah Singleton of Oliver Springs, TN and Chevy Adams of Crossville, TN have just two points separating them, and Ronnie Sharp of Crossville, TN is only 46 points out of second-place.

On Saturday night, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand and Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. The Mandatory Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m. and Hot Laps are scheduled for 6:45 p.m.

Pit Passes are $30 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
