NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 14 Round Up
CARTERSVILLE, GA – There was not much change in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies point standings after Week 14 competition, mainly due to three of the five scheduled races being rained out. This may just be the calm before the storm, as over the next few weeks, drivers at the top of the standings will reach the 14-week point of their respective seasons.
The top two drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings have competed in 13 weeks of racing, and their next week of action will be their last to earn full points for the remainder of the season. After reaching the 14 week mark, drivers have to try and replace the lowest of their 14 weekly point totals with a higher one.
Richie Stephens of Salem, AL continues to lead the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings, even after an 18th-place finish on Saturday night in the Mississippi Street Stock Series co-sanctioned race at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL driving the Rocketman Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.
Stephens has 621 points after 11 wins, 14 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 18 races over 13 weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition. Stephens holds a 19-point lead in the standings over Branden Harris of Molino, FL, who is in the second spot with 602 points.
Harris was unable to gain any ground on Stephens in the points chase, as he had issues of his own to deal with on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway, and he did not finish the main event and was credited with a 24th-place finish driving the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. In 14 races over 13 weeks of competition, Harris has five wins, ten top five finishes, and 12 top ten finishes.
Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is third in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 523 points after seven top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 13 races over 12 weeks driving the Jarrell Rigged Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. Jarrell did not compete in Week 14 action.
Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL is fourth in the standings with 495 points after one win, seven top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 13 races over 11 weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition driving the Faulk Motorsports Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. Faulk did not compete in Week 14 action.
Bo Bailey of Milton, FL and David Williamson of Seminary, MS are tied for the fifth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 493 points apiece. Bailey has two wins and 11 top five finishes in 12 races over 11 weeks of competition driving the L&L Construction Services Chevrolet. Bailey did not compete in Week 14 action.
Williamson drove the Sauls Farm Ford to a seventh-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway to move into the tie for the fifth spot with Bailey. In 11 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races over 11 weeks, Williamson has seven top five finishes and nine top ten finishes.
Bubba McGhee of Atmore, AL is seventh in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 464 points after three top five finishes and eight top ten finishes driving the MEC Trucking Chevrolet. McGhee did not start the main event on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway.
Kevin Mitchell of Pensacola, FL used a seventh-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in the Mitchell Racing Chevrolet to move up to the eighth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 458 points. Mitchell has one win, five top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in ten races over ten weeks.
Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS is ninth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 450 points after four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in the Geddie Tree Service Chevrolet. Geddie did not compete in Week 14 action.
Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS has reappeared in the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings after a second-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in the Sauls Farm Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. Strength has 447 points after six wins and 12 top five finishes in 12 races over nine weeks of competition.
NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 14 race winners were Sean Goodwin of Pensacola, FL and Tyler Hurst of Lineville, AL. Goodwin picked up the $1,000 top prize with his third win of the season on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in the co-sanctioned race with the Mississippi Street Stock Series driving the Climate Control of Pensacola Chevrolet.
After turning in nine NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division wins in the 2014 season, Hurst made his 2015 debut a successful one by driving the Hurst Construction Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to victory Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
Five of the Top 10 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks in the point standings, including the top four and one of two Week 14 race winners, were powered by the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.
