Tri-County Race Track Has $3,000 Independence Day Championship July 4th

BRASSTOWN, NC (June 28, 2016)—It’s one of the best kept secrets in the southeast.

Tri-County Race Track, nestled in the Western North Carolina Mountains will play host to another exciting event on Monday July 4th as the Sixth Annual Independence Day Championship race will pay $3,000 to the Super Late Model feature winner. The Limited Late Models ($800-to-win), Crate Late Models ($700-to-win), Interstate Welding Modified Street ($400-to-win), Street Stocks ($300-to-win) and the Pony class ($300-to-win) will all be racing during the night’s activities. A huge Fireworks display will light up the night sky before the main event.

In seven events contested so far at Tri-County Race Track, David Payne of Murphy, N.C. has captured three wins which came on May 6th in the $3,000 Spring Championship race, June 10 and most recently June 24. Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga. won the $4,000 Southern Nationals Bonus Series-sanctioned Memorial Day Championship race on May 30th in front of a record crowd while Shawn Chastain of Murphy, N.C. (March 25), Kenny Collins of Colbert, Ga. (April 8) and Austin Smith of Cedartown, Ga. (April 29) have all claimed one victory a piece at the Brasstown, NC oval.

The Super Late Model tire rule for Tri-County Race Track on Monday July 4th is as follows: American Racer 44, 48 & 56 (RR option only) and Hoosier 1300, 1350 & 1600 (RR option only). The Super Late Model entry fee will be $80.00. Southern Nationals Series body and weight rules will be in utilized.

On Monday July 4th the pit & grandstand gates open at 4:00 pm with the Driver’s Meeting slated for 6:30 pm and racing to begin at around 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission is $18.00 with children ages 11-16 admitted for $10.00 while children ten and under are free. Adult Pit Passes are $30.00 while children ages 11-16 admitted for $15.00 while children ten and under are free.
