Mahoney, Meade, Howard, Hayes, and Brown Fan Appreciation Night Winners at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY – September 29, 2017 – Ponderosa Speedway would return to action with Fan Appreciation Night on Friday evening and feature event winners would include Cody Mahoney of Hanover, IN in Super Late Models, Connor Meade of Clay City, KY in Pro Late Models, Jeremy Howard of Berea, KY in KDRA Super Stocks, Tyler Hayes of Pine Ridge, KY in Stock Four Cylinders, and Blake Brown of Corbin, KY in Mini-Cup/Cyclones.

Cody Mahoney would make a clean sweep of the night as he would be the top qualifier, win his heat, and lead all twenty-five laps of the $2,000 to win Super Late Model main event. Michael Chilton would sixth and finish second, while eighth-place starting Todd Coffman would be the final podium finisher in third. Adam Bowman and Brian Smith would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Stephen Breeding, Jonathan Couch, Donnie Sullivan, Ernie Cordier, and Curt Bennett.

Connor Meade would inherit the lead with seventeen of twenty laps complete in the Pro (Crate) Late Model feature contest when race leader Victor Lee had mechanical issues and Meade would claim the $1,000 victory, plus would pick up a $250 bonus since he had not won at the track in 2016 or 2017. Zane Powell would claim runner-up honors, while Gary Yeager would finish third. Austin Burns would come home fourth, while Jeff Watson completed the top five with a fifth-place effort. Rounding out the top ten finishers would be Wesley Brummett, Eric Centers, Tyler Collins, Clayton Turner, and Timmy Taylor.

Jeremy Howard would hold the advances of Eddie Stewart to score the victory in the KDRA Super Stock feature event, with Stewart settling for second, with Bartley Grant finishing third. Robby Perkins would recover from an early-race tangle to finish in the fourth position, with Glen Hounshell rounding out the top five. Completing the top ten finishers would be Terry Cheeks, Matthew King, Johnny King, Darrell Baker, and Robert Stanton.

Tyler Hayes would lead flag-to-flag to claim the Stock Four Cylinder main event, with Dylan Stevens finishing in the second position, while Eddie Stewart would come with a third-place finish. Gunner Johnson would finish fourth and Brian Moore would drive to a fifth-place finish. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Jason Sizemore, Tim Coffey, Chris Noe, Shannon Carter, and Ruthanna Carter.

Blake Brown and Dylan Rutherford would trade the lead on several occasions in the Mini-Cup/Cyclone feature event, with Brown nipping Rutherford in a photo-finish by 0.032 seconds. Trailing Brown and Rutherford at the finish would be Jeremy Elliott, Jason Hinkle, and Jason Hinkle, Jr.
