15th Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Season Starts June 1

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The 15th Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series season begins on Monday, June 1 for 24 different tracks in ten different states featuring four different Crate Racin’ USA sanctioned racing Divisions. Drivers will compete with each other using a points system over a 22-week season that ends on November 1.

A driver’s top 11 finishes will count towards their National points total. The 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Divisions are Late Models, Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsmen, and Modified Sportsmen. A list of the 2020 Sanctioned Tracks and the Divisions they will be running are listed below.

“With the COVID 19 pandemic and the National Shutdown it brought, we have had to alter the 2020 Weekly Racing Series season,” Crate Racin’ USA Director Adam Stewart said. “We usually have a 27-week season with drivers taking their best 14 weekly finishes, but with different states having different dates to open back up, we have had to cut the season down to 22 weeks with the drivers taking their best 11 weekly finishes.”

The defending Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model Weekly Racing Series National Champion is Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS, the defending Street Stock National Champion is Mike Lane of Wing, AL, the defending Late Model Stock National Champion is Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL, and Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL is the defending Modified Sportsman National Champion.

There are 13 tracks returning to the Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series line-up from the 2019 season. Returning for 2020 are Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Also returning in 2020 from last season are North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Crate Racin’ USA will once again co-sanction Late Model events in Kansas and Oklahoma with NCRA that is based out of Wichita, KS.

Tracks returning to Crate Racin’ USA sanction from previous seasons are Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN, Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, TN that will run Special Events in 2020, Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL, and Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS.

New tracks to Crate Racin’ USA sanction for 2020 are All Tech Raceway in Lake City, FL, Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, LA, Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC, Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC, Lakeview Motor Speedway in Nichols, SC, and Tri-County Speedway in Flomaton, AL.
