Cold Temperatures Doom Spring Nationals Visit to Wythe; Lil Bill Corum Memorial Next

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) A cold forecast with the high temperature hovering right around the forty degree mark in Rural Retreat, Virginia for Friday, April 2 has forced track and Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series officials to postpone the event at the picturesque Wythe Raceway. Both parties are working to find a suitable make-up date for the $10,053 to win show.

Saturday’s stop at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee is STILL ON. The running of the ‘Lil Bill Corum Memorial,’ which will be co-sanctioned with the Iron-Man Late Model Series, will shell out a whopping $21,000 top prize on Saturday, April 3. Times have been moved up one hour at “The Taz” with the pit gates opening at 1:00pm and the grandstands swinging open for patrons starting at 4:00pm. The Driver’s Meeting is slated for 5:00pm and hot laps will roll onto the high-banked racing surface at 6:00pm.
