Tips for wide bore large cubic inch?

Have had good success with a standard bore 430 13/11 degree, At end of 16 we went with a 454 11 degree motor. Didnt really get a chance to pound many laps on it but was wandering if anyone can tell me what they've noticed between two motors like this. We typically would leave the same carb on the standard motor all the time, but some people suggested getting a small carb and restrictor plates for the wide bore motor. Does anyone have much experience tuning these motors? What has anyone learned about header size between the two? I have two seperate sets of headers from builder, but have talked to guys who run same header on both. I trust engine builder but also want to hear some real life experience

I like my wide bore motor. It's smooth but makes plenty of power. I haven't had many super motors but I have driven a few and own my own.
