Dirt Street Stock - USA International...tips wanted.

I'm not an oval or dirt guy and all the online info for this class seems outdated because of some patch that makes these cars feel kinda crappy. What is the most common strategy here? I have tried easy on the brake in, easy on the gas out, hard on the brakes to get sideways and flat out and my lap times don't seem to change much.I tried this car/track over the summer and it was very spicy. Now it just seems super bland but easy to drive. Sill, I can't k eep up with the front runners. (leaders doing 27.2 and I'm running 27.6) Watching the other cars is not helping because the sound seems off in spectator mode and I can't see gas/brake indicators.
