McCarter And Skinner To Battle For CRUSA Winter Shootout Title

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual Cochran Clash will be the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series Winter Shootout finale this Sunday at Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA. Just two points separate Pierce McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN and Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL in the battle for the 2020 Winter Shootout Championship.

McCarter leads the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series point standings with 440 points. In six starts, McCarter has one top five finish and two top ten finishes driving the Parkway Liquor Store Longhorn. Skinner is second in the points chase with 438 points after one top five finish in six races driving the Skinner’s Body Shop Rocket.

The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series has been contested at seven of the most prestigious dirt late model events, averaging 43 cars at each event piloted by a total of 106 of the top Dirt Late Model drivers from 17 different states.

The 3rd Annual Winter Shootout events have taken place at the 29th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, the Inaugural Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in DeLeon Springs, FL, the 44th Annual East Bay Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL, and this Sunday’s finale, the 3td Annual Cochran Clash at Cochran Motor Speedway.

In the first six Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series Winter Shootout events, Kyle Bronson of Tampa, FL has three wins, while two-time Winter Shootout Champion Jimmy Elliott of Cleveland, TN has one win, Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, FL has one win, and Devin Dixon of Apollo Beach, FL has one win.

Cochran Motor Speedway will host an Open Practice Session on Friday night. The gates open at 5 p.m. with practice from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday, the pit gate opens at 12 Noon with Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. with racing to follow.
