ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Scottie Hiett of Wedowie, AL remains the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman point leader after Week 10 action. Hiett finished fourth on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL in the East Alabama Truck Repair Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Engine.

Hiett has a ten-week total of 494 points and has an 11-point lead over Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN, who has a ten-week total of 483 points. The defending Crate Racin’ USA Modified Sportsman National Champion Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL is third in the National standings with a ten-week total of 471 points.

Jamie Gowers of Vincent, AL drove the Gowers Racing Special to his first Modified Sportsman win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Gowers is fourth in the National standings with a ten-week total of 449 points. The top four drivers in the Modified Sportsman point standings are using Chevrolet Performance 602 power.

Ron Bailey of Harvest, AL is fifth in the Modified Sportsman National standings with a ten-week total of 444 points, and Paul Poe of Ragland, AL is sixth with a ten-week total of 428 points. Tracy Terrell is seventh with a nine-week total of 423 points, and Tim Staples of Pell City, AL is eighth with a nine-week total of 422 points.

Staples is tied with Blake Swann of Anniston, AL for the eighth spot, as Swann has a ten-week total of 422 points. Josh Salisbury rounds out the top-ten in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman National standings with a ten-week total of 421 points.

Jason Byrd of Carbon Hill, AL was a 50-point winner at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Marion County Roofing Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Engine. Chuckie Gipson of Tuscumbia, AL picked up the $1,000 top prize at North Alabama Speedway in the Gipson Racing Special.

Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN drove the Hickerson Racing Special to victory at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN.
