CCSDS to Award Show-Up Points and Money from Legit Rain Out

COMP Cams Super Dirt Series to Award Show-Up Points and Money to Drivers from Rain-Interrupted Legit Speedway Stop

Conway, Arkansas (09/04/21) – Officials with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil have announced that all 22 scheduled feature starters from the July 31 event at Legit Speedway Park will receive 100 points and $500. Just as the field was preparing to pull onto the speedway for the night’s Larry Phillips Memorial feature, severe thunderstorms struck the 3/8-mile oval, preventing the feature from being contested.

“Between the races we have scheduled, and the other races in the area, there’s just nowhere for us to makeup our feature event from the night. I hate that we can’t find a suitable date, but our series just doesn’t have many options this late in the year. Gary Stolba and his staff have stepped up to pay all the drivers, who had qualified for the feature $500, and as a series we will award them all with 100 points,” CCSDS CEO Chris Sullivan said. “It’s just the best answer to a bad situation, and I really appreciate the staff at Legit Speedway for working with us to find an amicable solution. We’ll look forward to returning there in 2022.”

With qualifying, heat races, and b-mains completed for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Super Late Models, the night is considered a complete show despite the feature not being run. However, the local division portion of the program will be completed on Saturday, September 11. Ticket stubs and arm bands from the July 31 program will be honored at the event.
