Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 3 Preview

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – A busy Week 3 schedule of events is on tap for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division with 14 races in seven different states. There are three races scheduled for Friday night, and 11 events to be contested on Saturday night.

Friday night Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model action is scheduled for Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Magnolia Motor Speedway will return on Saturday night to present a $1,000-to-win race, and Talladega Short Track will also host its second Week 3 race on Saturday night.

Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, LA, Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC, Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN, Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, and Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN will be in action with Late Model events on Saturday night. Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, TX will have its first-ever Newsome Raceway Parts Late Model race on Saturday night.

North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL will be in action on Saturday night with Newsome Raceway Parts Week 3 Late Model action on Saturday night along with Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS and Salina Speedway in Salina, KS will present a Late Model event co-sanctioned by Crate Racin’ USA and NCRA.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS leads the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model point standings with 100 points. Scarbrough will be looking for his third straight win in Week 3 competition.

The defending Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is among four drivers tied for second in the points chase along with Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL, Scott Ladner, and Shannon Davis. They all have 99 points.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total. The 2020 National Champion will earn $10,000.
