Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Week 1 Round Up

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Seth Johnston of Santa Fe, TN and Scottie Hiett of Wedowie, AL are on top of the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Division point standings after 50-point wins on Saturday night. There were also four 40-point winners on Saturday night in Week 1 action.

Johnston drove the Lanehart Electrical Contractors Special powered by an economical Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to victory at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. Hiett took the win over a 20-car field at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the East Alabama Truck Repair Special with Chevrolet Performance 602 power.

Bryce Trull of Lobelville, TN, Sam Hughes of Arkadelphia, AL, Jason Byrd of Carbon Hill, AL, and Blaze Trull of Linden, TN picked up Newsome Raceway Parts Modified Sportsman 40-point wins on Saturday night over fields of less than eight cars.

Bryce Trull drove the TNT Lawn Care Special to victory at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, and Hughes was the winner at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL. Byrd took the win at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS in the Marion County Roofing Special powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Engine, and Blaze Trull was the winner at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN in the All Around Underground Special.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Modified Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count their best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
