Wet Weather Postpones Spring Nationals Visit to Volunteer Speedway for Scott Sexton Memorial

BULLS GAP, Tenn. – Apr. 22, 2017 – Heavy afternoon rains at about 1:15 pm and the threat of more rain into the evening hours have forced officials with Volunteer Speedway to postpone the Fifth Annual Scott Sexton Memorial scheduled for tonight. No immediate makeup date has been announced for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series-sanctioned event but track and series officials are hopeful that a decision on a makeup date will be announced as early as next week.

The next event on the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will be Thursday May 4th at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. paying $15,000-to-win as the series will make-up the 10-lap Consolation Race and the 75-lap Main event.
