SENOIA, Ga. – November 12, 2016 – Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga. held off a late race charge from tenth-starting Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga. to capture the $10,000 payday in the Inaugural Showdown at Senoia on Saturday Night at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway.
This was Clanton’s second victory on the tour. His last win came in July 2015 at Senoia Raceway. This also marked Clanton’s tenth triumph of the season and first since an August 2nd World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series victory. Clanton drove the Weldbank Energy, Hoosier Racing Tire, Super K Express, VP Racing Fuels, Keyser Manufacturing, Hornburg Oil and Penn Gold Well Services-sponsored Clements Racing Engines-powered Capital Race Car to the payday.
The final Southern Nationals Bonus Series event of the season will be Friday and Saturday November 18 and 19 with the running of the 28th Annual Gobbler paying $10,000-to-win. Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. leads David Payne of Murphy, N.C., Ryan King of Seymour, Tenn. and Doug Smith of Harriman, Tenn. into the final points event.
