Cory Hedgec ock Nabs NeSmith Cash at Greenville for Lucky #13

Loudon, Tennessee (07/18/16) – Cory Hedgec ock may have never seen Greenville Speedway prior to Friday night, but it didn’t prevent him from parking his Brucebilt Performance Rocket Chassis #23 Smithbilt Homes Late Model in victory lane in the opening round of the Rumble on the Gumbo. The win marked his 13th of the 2016 campaign.

Competing in the two-day Rumble on the Gumbo, Cory Hedgec ock made the trip to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Friday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series event. Scoring a heat race victory in a field of 22 Crate Late Models, Hedge (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) earned the 3rd-starting spot for the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Wheeling his way through lap-traffic, Cory took the lead on lap 17 and never looked back for the remaining 23 circuits, en route to picking up his 13th win of the season, which came over Scott Dedwylder, Greg Fore, Michael Arnold, and Chase Edge.

On Saturday Hedgec ock timed in 2nd fastest behind Chase Edge, setting him up with the 2nd-starting position for the $2,500-to-win A-Main. Holding his position for all 40-laps, Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) notched a runner-up finish behind Michael Arnold with Justin McRee, Greg Fore, and Mike Palasini Jr. rounding out the top five.

“Overall it was a strong weekend for us at Greenville,” said Hedgec ock. “It’s always good to win, and if we can’t win I guess a second place finish is the next big thing. Hopefully we can continue to build on this point lead as we chase the championship.”
